Style 17, the Transit Map. Round 1

The register changes again. After two photographed objects and a handmade one, a diagram: the job drawn as a transit line, the way a subway map tells a route. Stations are the steps. A branch is a choice. A dotted stub that ends in a tick is the road that goes nowhere. The heavy ring is the terminus, where the line is going. A ringed stop with a flag is where you are. The line badge is the label, the headline is the map's title, the paragraph is the service information, and the agent is the operator line at the foot with the lockup. The face is Work Sans, the grotesk of wayfinding signage. Lines are 24 pixels with 45 degree bends and round joins, in the kit's line colors: navy, teal, burgundy, forest.

Each job has its own route. This is normal is the one the style was built for: the appraisal stop with two branch lines, comps or a gap, that rejoin at closing. The thank-you is the whole journey. The market note's overpriced listings are a stub that dead-ends while the line goes on to 214 closed. Three grounds: white, navy with light lines, cream with forest ink.

What to rule on. Whether the routes read as the story without explanation, TR-normal and TR-thanks first. The grounds. The badge and the operator line at the foot. Pass or note by name.

The routes

TR-tip
TR-tipThe seller tip as the listing line: Inspect is the start-here stop, then the fix on your own schedule, price it, list, closing.
TR-market
TR-marketThe market note: the line closes at 214 in August; the overpriced ones are a dotted stub that ends in a dead-end tick, still sitting.
TR-normal
TR-normalThis is normal: the appraisal stop is where you are, and the two ways through are two branch lines that rejoin at closing.
TR-invite
TR-inviteThe invitation: the number online is a dotted stub off your address; the line runs through what closed on your street to the real number.
TR-thanks
TR-thanksWith thanks: the whole journey, four years of saving, two lost, the Thursday showing at the turn, the Friday offer, keys.
TR-holiday
TR-holidayThanksgiving: the front door to the kitchen, where the line splits, the house one way and the people the other, ending at the table.
TR-navy
TR-navyThe seller tip on the navy ground: light lines, the pill in the line color.
TR-cream
TR-creamThis is normal on cream with forest ink.
