Style 14, the Sign. Round 1

After the Lock Screen the register turns outdoors: highway signage. A sign face on two galvanized posts against the sky, the retroreflective border, the rounded corners, the rivets. The job speaks in the sign's own grammar, and the sign family changes with the job: the green guide sign for a tip, the blue distance sign for the market note with its rows and numbers, the yellow warning diamond for the reassurance, the blue information sign for the invitation, the town-entrance sign for the thank-you, the brown recreation sign for the holiday. The paragraph rides on a supplemental panel under the main sign. You are the adopt-a-highway plaque at the foot, the real sign type that carries a sponsor's name, with the lockup. The face is Overpass, the open face drawn from Highway Gothic.

What to rule on. The families: whether a job reading as its sign type holds, especially the diamond and the town sign. The skies: day, dusk. The face colors: highway green, the kit navy, white. The plaque wording: "Next 2 miles adopted by" is the real sign; say if it goes the way "Printed for" went. Pass or note by name.
