Style 15, the Sampler. Round 1
My pick, and after the photograph a flat, handmade object nobody in the library has: counted cross-stitch on Aida cloth. Every letter is built from stitches on the cloth's own count, a 5-by-7 stitch alphabet: the headline in big stitches two cells square, the label, the paragraph, the note and your line in single stitches, each stitch an X of thread with its sheen. A stitched border of hearts runs round the edge. The kit lockup is a woven label sewn in the corner, the way a maker's tag goes on. Nothing is drawn; there is cloth, thread and a tag. Five threads, three cloths. When a paragraph will not fit the cloth, the sampler says the line and the note, since a sampler says one thing.
Dave's notes, applied, and the style closed: all the text centered; no logo or tag on the cloth; the agent line reads the name and LEGACY with the phone under it. The formats are below: portrait on the same count with more air between the blocks; story stitched on a coarser count, eight to the cell, the way a taller sampler is.
