The register changes again. After the Timeline's diagrams, a printed object with numbers in it: a thermal receipt, the itemized strip everyone reads from the bottom line up. The card is the paper. Serrated top and bottom, the print faintly banded the way thermal print is, the lockup printed black at the head, the title as the largest print, the items with leaders and the amounts on the right, a rule, the total in bold, a barcode, and the agent as the SERVED BY line. Everything centered except the items, which justify the way a receipt does. The first monospace in the library: Space Mono.
Material from the idea bank, and numbers that are real. Net proceeds on a sale and cash to close on a purchase are worked examples, labeled as examples, with the real Michigan transfer tax rate and a commission line marked negotiable. The quarter-point card is computed from the payment formula, not rounded. What this took, the open house funnel and Thanksgiving are counts, not dollars, so their totals are words: Home, Under contract, Everything.
What to rule on. The object: does the paper read as a receipt, and is the serration and the banding enough or too much. The grounds: navy, charcoal, a counter tone. White paper or cream. The numbers cards, RC-net and RC-cash first: is a worked example with real lines the right kind of card. Pass or note by name.
