Style 3, the Note. Round 1

Seeded from Brett's typewriter-note, number 61 of his eighty-three: a short written statement from the agent, no headline, no number, all voice. Nine variations, each isolating one idea, the way Round 1 of Style 1 went. Square 1080; portrait and story derive once the seed is dialed in. Brett's copy kept as the dummy note.

What every one of them already does. The kit mark once, in the card's own color, with the county and the date beside it. The icon watermark on the ground. The note on a sheet, signed by hand. The agent block over a rule, and the face in a white ring on a light interior. Pass or note each one by its name.

The face of the note

Note, typewriter
NT-typeThe seed corrected. A typewriter face on a cream sheet, burgundy. This is the baseline the others vary.
Note, handwritten
NT-handThe same note written by hand, the face that passed on the index card.
Note, book serif
NT-serifA book serif in sentence case, navy on paper. Serif was rejected in caps; this is the other way to use one.

The ground

Note, teal, sheet tilted
NT-tealThe teal palette, and the sheet tilted a degree the way a real note sits on a desk.
Note, charcoal with steel signature
NT-charCharcoal type, black mark, the signature in steel. The quietest palette.
Note, dark ground
NT-darkThe dark ground. The sheet is a lighter navy panel, white mark, a mono face, sky signature.

The construction

Note as a letter
NT-letterNo sheet: the whole card is the letterhead. Mark and date over a rule, a salutation, the body, a signature.
Note with the agent standing beside it
NT-cutoutThe sheet narrowed and the agent standing beside it, part of the composition rather than a ring in the corner.
Note with a P.S. panel
NT-psThe note plus a P.S. panel in the accent, which is how a note fills its bottom with something that earns the space.
